Small Group Ministry Team
PURPOSE
The Small Group Ministry works in conjunction with the Pastoral Care Ministry. Together these two spheres of ministry seek to be a safety net in taking care of the spiritual and personal needs of our people. Small groups and Sunday school classes create a smaller interpersonal environment so that participants will develop close relationships. These groups will encourage one another and be up to speed on the needs of its members. If necessary, the groups can inform the pastoral leadership to help minister when needed.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. Meet regularly as a team.
2. Bob Thompson will coordinate the Small Group Ministry of the church.
3. Evaluate the health of the church’s current small groups.
4. Plan and develop new small groups.
5. Make monthly contacts encouraging small group leaders.
6. Recruit and train small group leaders.
7. Provide and implement strategies of getting our people into new or existing small groups.
8. Find and recommend curriculum for small groups.
9. Present a budget proposal to the finance team in September for small group expenses the following year.
10. Present a written paragraph of ministry goals for the following year at church’s annual meeting. These will be included in a goal setting notebook.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The ministry shall report to the Church Board and Elders of the Blanchard Church of Christ concerning the work of their ministry.
